Quality Alterations & Repairs at Fair Prices

A little knowledge and understanding of the work entailed in altering clothes helps to determine whether the purchase of a misfitting garment is practical or not, since there are no limits to the alterations which can be satisfactorily made on finished products. Going beyond these limits can prove both disappointing and costly, whether the work is done personally or professionally.

Do not buy clothes:

Do buy clothes:

too large in neckline and shoulders, or across the back and upper chest just above the bustline. Even experts cannot always correct these parts.

too large around the bust, waist or hips, too long sleeves or too long pants, skirts, shirts, blouses etc. It is no problem to refit these parts.

Suggestions for some figure problems:

A marked down item should only be purchased if it fits well and require only minor alterations.
Not all manufacturers of ready-to-wear cut their sizes exactly alike.
Whatever alterations are needed, they should not affect the style of the garment to a noticeable degree.
